August 2006 sorts alphabetically before November 1972 and May 1996, because A comes before M and N., {{dts}} template attaches a "hidden key" o dates, causing them to sort correctly while still being displayed in one of the customary display formats such as August 2006 or Aug 2006, use of the YYYY-MM will solve this problem but with minor exceptions that the format is unacceptable (see WP:DATEFORMAT), because 2006-08 could mean August 2006 or from 2006 to 2008 or an 8th day of an unspecified month of 2006.
