This category is very messy most of the details are hard to find and so I suggest that we create a number of new categories to help organize this section. I would suggest that we organize the battles both by time period and by geographic region. For geography we can probably start with the Continents and for time period, maybe Ancient, Middle ages, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st century battles? Sortior 20:52, Dec 24, 2004 (UTC)

Battles by century?[edit]

If it is created (and there was some discussion at WP:MILHIST on this issue recently; you can drop by and revive it, if you like), it should be "Military conflicts by year/century"; it's not really helpful to split among battles/campaigns/wars when the categories will be quite small to begin with. (And yes, we will need by-year categories, since the current categorization rules for battles call for them to be placed in a regular by-year category, such as Category:1512.)
