Wait, it was the 11th grade (final exam) however[edit]

According to this Texas Government PDF file (don't worry Google/HTML it) Timeline of Testing in TEXAS, the exit level for the writing and math test changed from 11th grade to 10th occured in 1992-1994. --Chill Pill Bill 02:48, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)s

As a public high school teacher 2008-09 school year here is some updated information. TAKS must be passed in the 3rd, 5th and 8th grade to move on . This has been implemented over the last 5 years. Also the exit TAKS was moved from the 10th grade to the 11th grade. Students must still take English and Math in the 9th grade, in the 10th grade they take English, Math, Science and a writing portion. In the 11th grade they must pass English, Math, Science, and History. With this years incoming 6th grades the rules change when they reach High school they will be required to pass the EOC End of COurse exam in each of the 4 core subjects with a 70 or above to receive credit and to graduate they must pass at least 14 of the 16 tests and the TAKS test will have been phased out.
