Featured article review needed[edit]

I am concerned that this article—although well maintained—may not meet the WP:WIAFA comprehensive criterion, and in a POV way. This biography, listed in External links and citing many of the same sources used here, seems to have considerably more content about Yagan himself, while Wikipedia seems to focus on Yagan almost exclusively in terms of his relationship with settlers and the relocation of his head. It seems there is more material about Yagan himself which should be included, so as not to tell his story only from the POV of settlers. Can this be addressed or should the article be submitted to WP:FAR? The WP:LEAD should also be expanded to be a broader summary of the article, and some of the See also should be either worked in to the article, their relationship explained, or removed. The lead tells us almost nothing about Yagan himself, which is a very POV way to present the man's life. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:49, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

'Early resistance'?[edit]

The Australian Dictionary of Biography disagrees:

Yagan cannot properly be described as a ‘resistance leader’ when the Noongars offered no organised and sustained opposition to the settlers. He was more of a maverick, a bold and courageous warrior whose actions on behalf of his people and their rights made him notorious. He was not the brutal, indiscriminate killer most settlers thought him to be. His duty was to enforce the Noongar system of retributive justice on them as the only basis for a resolution of conflict between Noongars and colonists.
