Politics[edit]

"Lewis County is known for sharing many characteristics with eastern Washington instead of western Washington, where it is located, especially politically."

Is this more of a testament to the flaws in the Eastern/Western Washington dichotomy than it is something interesting about Lewis County? Looking at The 2004 and 2008 gubernatorial elections, much of Southern Washington voted red, though not as strongly as Lewis County. Perhaps it is more of the Puget Sound region that has the liberal base instead of all of Western Washington?

Anyone up for a discussion?

Untitled[edit]

Lewis County voted for Republican George W. Bush by almost a 2-to-1 margin, in sharp contrast to the fairly liberal surrounding areas.

In which election? 2000 or 2004?

Tried to expand on this. To me it's a bit more interesting that it went for both Dole and McCain. Anyway I'm thinking my information on local government is outdated, but their county site is a bit hard to use.--T. Anthony (talk) 08:06, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
