An Adelphia cable modem subscriber in Charlottesville at 68.235.163.221 removed the photos from this article on October 6, and those photos were declared "orphans" and deleted 7 days later on October 13. He removed a photo from the article again on November 2. Please restore the images to this article if you see them missing in the future. Uris 21:56, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to see no one is jumping to conclusions about the identity of vandals. The Pep Band's page has been vandalized well more than twice, clearly it's a ruse to make themselves look popular. Also, since it appears that the Pep Band is alive and well the designation former is incorrect. But hey, what do I know? The pep band is all but dead. I haven't seen them in years, unfortunately. If you saw them, it may be because you saw a group of individuals just calling themselves "the pep band", in jest, even though such an organization died out long, long ago. They're probably being funny and trying to fool you into attesting to their continued existence here on Wikipedia. Don't fall for it. I don't see how you can say that this page is insignificant solely on the premise that a band for a football program is not notable. Would you say that the marching band for Ohio State University's football program is not notable? Would you also say that the band for University of Southern California's football program is not notable? Ref cleanup and first performance[edit]

All old Cavalier Daily links are broken after the paper's fall 2008 website relaunch. I've fixed the one in this article. I also removed an uncited claim that songs like the "Virginia Yell Song" hadn't been performed at Virginia athletic events in a century. The part books may have dated from 1907, but the University of Virginia Band was playing the music circa 1940-1950 according to the liner notes of their 1951 recording with the Virginia Glee Club, Songs of the University of Virginia. -Tjarrett (talk) 14:22, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great! Also, "holdout" is very specific language, indicating that there was some group movement, or conference-wide pressure, and that some other ACC schools didn't have true marching bands in the same rough time period. Is there a cite for that? If not, the language as before is the better choice, I think. WhyDoIKeepForgetting (talk) 06:39, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
