Untitled[edit]

This should link to Portchester castle (ideally), or at least to the Roman channel forts, but I don't know how to find articles for either, nor enough to contribute new articles for either.

Disruption by Nuttah is currently making updating the page a problem it is suggest to wait and is understandable why this page is in such a poor state. Fareham, wimbeldon and various other pages all use the same format of linking to useful information.

Current areas that seriously need updating:-

Amenities

  • Local Parks
  • Educations - Mainly the four schools
  • Organisations and the annual Gala
  • Main business and economic activities of the area.
  • The future transport change for the area.
  • Places of worship.

Tone and Structure[edit]

The tone needs work. Some of the wording is of the promotional, tourist brochure style. Also we need citations on more of the content. Finally, the structure needs work. The lead is too long and the history needs to be split out from that into its own section and expanded. --DanielRigal (talk) 11:51, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History section[edit]

According to the present article, nothing has happened in Portchester for the past 1500 years.

This article sadly needs an update from a local historian, not an archeologist.--Oldontarian (talk) 18:46, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling and Grammar, False information[edit]

Spelling and grammar is terrible which I have been trying to edit. Also, the twinning section is completely false. Portchester is part of the Borough of Fareham, which is twinned with Vannes in France and Pulheim in Germany. Portchester itself is not twinned with any other place. Also the census figures do not include both Portchester wards, so the population figures in the table are grossly under-reported. Oursoulsarecheap2day (talk) 23:16, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thanks for coming here, Could I ask how do you know the twinning section is false ?, The other question is do you have a source for the population figures ?, Those are my only 2 issues, Thanks, –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 23:33, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading distance information[edit]

The article claims that Porchester "is 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Portsmouth and a similar distance from Southampton on the A27 road" but an online mapping app says that the latter is about 4 times further away by road.
