Untitled[edit]

Info to be added:

The original monument was destroyed in 1990 when the column was pulled down by thieves who stole the eagle.

A new monument with a replica of the original eagle, paid for by public appeal, was unveiled on a slightly diferent site on 2 April 2005. -- Picapica 22:36, 12 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am glad to read that it has been replaced but the loss of the original happened at the time when the roundabout was being replaced by the present two-level junction, so reference to the roundabout is misleading too. (RJP 22:18, 30 April 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Copy Edit[edit]

I performed a quick copy edit on this article, I did not remove the tag however because I feel there is more that can be edited and some that I was unsure of. Dobblesteintalk 22:04, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The "quick copy edits" you performed were mostly not an improvement and therefore I have reverted the majority of your changes. You introduced grammatical and formatting errors and changed the meaning of some parts. The tone of the page is still in need of improvement because much of it reflects early-19th century sources. Nedrutland (talk) 06:57, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any specific examples, @Nedrutland, to help potential editors out. I don't mean a comprehensive list but perhaps a sentence or two and how you would like it reworded? I have seen many worse pages than this on Wikipedia and if there's someone going round reverting improvements that aren't up to scratch, it would be good to know where the scratch is located before putting in significant labour. 51.9.46.7 (talk) 16:46, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
