Fleetwood Mac[edit]

Can someone please explain the significance of this "Seeking inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top began recording the album at Robin Hood Studios in Tyler, Texas." All Fleetwood Mac albums through '71 were recorded in England. Robin Hood Studios website shows no mention of Fleetwood Mac recording there ever. How exactly were ZZ Top inspired by Fleetwood Mac?

Is it because Fleetwood Mac titled their first album "Fleetwood Mac"? OOOOHHHH, how original is that?! Fleetwood Mac was hardly the first or only one to do that at that point in time. Let's play a game, shall we, how many other bands prior to and including 1970 did that? I'll start....Black Sabbath. The Stooges. Led Zeppelin. The Doors. ZZ Top were definitely influenced by Fleetwood Mac - the early live recordings especially show that, but also a track like "Apologies to Pearly" from the second album that directly references Peter Green's pre-FM days with John Mayall, and Billy worked on both a Peter Green tribute album and the celebration show. But you're right in that the sentence implies a causal connection between the two, which I also don't see.Jules TH 16 (talk) 08:30, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
