According to User:Jimbo, the subject of this article, Lou Reed, has edited the article - correcting his birth name only to have his correction reverted.[1]

Removal of the outside reference # 58 and the line from that reference which is here included in quotation marks:
Reed married Bettye Kronstad in 1973. "She later said he had been a violent drunk when on tour.[58]"
I seriously doubt the only thing to say about Bettye Kronstad other than that Reed married her is this very negative comment that has been chosen to represent his first wife, which is patently offensive. The woman supported him emotionally, personally and professionally as his confident, muse and best friend, as well as the first love he married. There are several songs Reed wrote where she is mentioned or referred to including, most obviously "Perfect Day," which he wrote for her after they spent a day together, about which Reed specifically commented in an interview when asked who/what the song was about. His reply was that the song was about a guy and the girl and a day they spent together in so many words. Obviously, Reed loved and cared about her a great deal, and considering how long she stayed with him and through one of the most turbulent periods of his life, it is offensive that this should be her only mention -- that she called him a violent drunk when on tour. Even if she did say that, it was in response to a question, and the quote is being cherry picked. Kronstad wrote a memoir entitled PERFECT DAY about their five year relationship and there's plenty of quotes where she says incredibly beautiful, sensitive and moving things about him as a person, a writer and a musician/performer, let alone the newspaper articles she has written and is quoted saying very beautiful things about her first husband as an artist and a person.
