Fair use rationale for Image:Execseal.gif[edit]

Image:Execseal.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Important notice[edit]

The government section of the "Outline of Palau" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.

When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.

Please check that this country's outline is not in error.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact The Transhumanist .

Thank you.

Reason for move of capital[edit]

Does anyone have any information on WHY the capital was moved from Koror to Melekeok? I've been looking for anything I can find and nothing says anything about the reason or purpose of the move, only thing I can find are questions as to whether the capital is Melekeok or Ngerulmud.

All I have is a personal guess that (given that Melekeok seems no more unique an area than the rest of the island and the new capital building stands fairly alone) the government may be trying to construct a new (possibly planed) capital away from established population centers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.202.113.212 (talk) 01:37, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct. Koror, which is the main and biggest city (in Palau it is referred to as "State" by the locals) is too over-populated and so in hopes to control population in a specific area, our former president decided to move and build the actual capital building to Melekeok. The capital of the republic of Palau as a whole is Ngerulmud. 24.206.68.15 (talk) 07:51, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
