earlier comment[edit]

Note that this is subordinate to Category:Russian history, which is subordinate to Category:Russia. I don't necessarily object to that, since the Russian SSR so dominated the Soviet Union, but it is a little problematic. It means that subordinate categories (such as Category:Leaders of the Soviet Union) are indirectly under Russia, even though the people in question are not all Russians (Stalin being an obvious example to the contrary: he was Georgian).

Should we have a note about this in the category itself? -- Jmabel 21:25, Jul 18, 2004 (UTC)

Soviet Union disappeared 20 years ago[edit]

Is this category concerned with the Soviet Union, which disappeared back in 1991 ? In which case, all events posterior to this date should be removed. Is this category concerned with the Former Soviet Union ? In this case, all titles should be changed. --Environnement2100 (talk) 16:06, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
