Saminaickenpatty under Omalur Taluk in Salem District[edit]

Saminaickenpatty is a village predominantly dominated by Adi Dravida Population, followed by the Vellala Gounder and small section of Naiker family members. It has Mariamman temple and people celebrate this festival once in a year and all the communities from Saminaickenpatty participate actively. A samll segment of this village are holding agricultural land and perform cultivation. Majority cultivate crops for making money and they are as follows. Groundnut, cotton, sugarcane, sorghum, ragi and lastly rice. Other than this some cultivate dhal, vegetables, moong dhal, beans, tomato, okara, green chilies and rarely mango.

This village has produced, Doctor specialised in Infectious Diseases, Infection prevention and control and Clinical Microbiology. Engineers have been from this village and majority of the children study in english medium of school education. Majority of adult population work in the magnesite companies such as Burn and standadr, TATA and Dalmia magnesite.

Rearing cows for dairy is also on the rise in this village population.

Most of the citizens from this village have pucca houses and this village has been provided with a branch place called as Saminaickenpatty new colony on the road connecting, Salem highway NH7 and the state road connecting between Salem Junction and Muthunaickenpatty near Omalur.

There are not much of caste based discrimination among the population living in this village. Civil cases do occur but criminal cases are at the barest minimum possible in the past 3 decades.

Corruption among the panchayat president is on the rise during elections as well during their tenure.
