It seems to me that this article presents a very limited point of view of Christian Radio.

For example, there's a whole range of formats to Christian radio, and not all focus on playing Christian music. Some are more oriented toward the "talk radio" format, and others offer a more-or-less balanced mixture of talk and music. Consider for example WMBI, flagship station of the Moody Bible Institute radio network (www.wmbi.org).

I don't have time to work on this now -- anyone else is, of course, welcome to give it a shot.

This article bizarrely refers to Christian radio only in the United States without giving any clarification that it is about Christian radio in the United States. Well, if you have knowledge of Christian radio elsewhere, feel free to add, as my knowledge is limited to the U.S. I'd hesitate to call it "bizarre," as it is merely the result of the geographically-limited knowledge of the current editors. This article is also very slanted towards Contemporary Christian/Christian pop music. Both Southern Gospel and urban contemporary gospel have a large stake in Christian radio. A rewrite is probably in order here. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 18:42, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would an additional paragraph on Christian university/college campus stations be of interest or add depth to this article? Students participate in production and broadcasting. I'm thinking of Liberty University's 90.9 The Light (http://www.liberty.edu/thelight/). These students are essentially the next generation of Christian Radio. XYZ Radio, Gold River Digital Media & The Advancement of Internet/Mobile Radio[edit]

Commercial Christian radio[edit]

The current article seems to have the underlying premise that Christian radio is by definition non-commercial. That is not correct. One of the largest religious broadcasters is Salem media, which is traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Because Salem is a commercial broadcaster, money sent to them directly would not be tax deductible. However, they can sell block programming to religious broadcasters that can solicit money that IS tax-deductible, and the religious broadcaster spends that money to pay for the brokered air time. In some cases, the religious broadcasting host is long dead, and the distribution is done based on a legal entity owning broadcast rights to the programming.
