Father Guido Sarducci was a character in an early "counter-culture" comic book series called "Mother's Oats Comix". I've added the cartoonist in question, Dave Sheridan, to the article, but I'm not sure who actually created the character, Sheridan or Novello. Fire Star 05:22, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

What a wonderful idea, Fr. Guido strolling the piazza and being arrested by the swiss guards!! It doesn't get any better than that, unless they tortured him on the rack. Has this been written up yet? where can we read it? Is there a transcript of his interview today with Al? It reminds me that Phil Henry interviewed a tourist in Rome on the day of the funeral complaining that he couldn't even get a bottle of wine delivered to his room because of all the comotion going on over at St. Pete's. Grazie for the story, and please continue to keep us informed of these memorable events. First television appearance[edit]

I'm pretty sure that Novello's first television appearances as Father Sarducci were on "The Jack Parr Show". That's not mentioned in the article and I didn't try to add it because I don't know the dates. Weasel words, free advertising[edit]

The reference to "Sarducci's" restaurant is largely immaterial unless the restaurant's walls are smothered with Fr. Guido Sarducci memorabilia, which is not apparent from the existing text. Also, those two sentences are laced with "peacock" words: "His appearances on SNL inspired the name of a successful restaurant in the center of Montpelier, Vermont called Sarducci's. The small restaurant has gained much attention in the state, attracting its share of celebrities with its authentic Italian food and atmosphere." The second sentence is irrelevant and appears to be little more than an advertisement for the restaurant. I recommend removal. Sethnessatwikipedia (talk) 07:03, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Local Advertising?[edit]

I seem remember seeing advertisements for local a Milwaukee business or businesses (think it might've been a carpet store, can't recall) featuring Father Guido Sarducci on television in the early to mid 1980s. Being just a youngster with a short attention span at the time, I can't remember much about the ads, other than Novello always ending them with the line "Tell 'em Father Guido sent ya". Can anyone verify this, or is my memory playing tricks on me? Did he do local ads for any other cities/businesses? Any online video? MightyJAK (talk) 17:15, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded this over five years ago (apparently), and now it's been tagged for possible deletion; I figure anyone watching this article would be in a better position to deal with it. Cameo in an erotic film[edit]

Perhaps someone can help document this. Fr. Guido Sarducci appears for about a minute, as if being watched on a TV screen. This is as a sort of entr'acte between segments in a movie titled something pretty much like "1985 [ or some year around then] Erotic Film Festival." He is, as usual, speaking as if being interviewed, and he talks about how the problem with miracles is that, even when you get one, it is sometimes of no use. His bit ends when a semi-nude woman, who has been sitting atop the TV and facing the audience, reaches down and changes the channel. 71.176.130.9 (talk) 05:03, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
