Spelling?[edit]

It would appear that in Korea its name is written in hangeul. Is it ever actually called "Swiri", except in unofficial Western romanization of its Korean name? elvenscout742 20:55, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With some frequency -- for example, by the IMDB and many other reliable sources -- try a Google for "Swiri" and see what comes up. Also, assuming that the poster on the article page hasn't been doctored, it would appear "Swiri" was the official English title in Korea. I know it's ridiculous, but many South Korean movies have an "English name" even in their domestic distribution. Hope that clears things up somewhat... Well, IMDb (and presumably others) has a (sometimes nasty) habit of using (romanized, if necessary) versions of the first release title. It would also appear that (for whatever reason - I don't speak Korean) it is pronounced in Korea as "Shiri" rather than "Swiri" anyway. From IMDb, I also got that in Hong Kong (and everywhere else) it is romanized as "Shiri". elvenscout742 10:16, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

spelling (2) - Yu vs. Ryu[edit]

I assume that Yu is the Korean spelling? At least in the blurb of a DVD released in California, the character's name is "Ryu". (I can't get the subtitles to work, so I don't know how they spelt it there.) I thought that's also what I heard in the movie. Does anyone know more? --Ibn Battuta 20:44, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Box[edit]
