Comment: Android apps look like TSR's to me. The TSRs even persist when the machine is reset/rebooted. Many of these apps use costly internet data even after a user believes they have exited the program. After running then exiting an app, usually a user must also 'force close' the app to actually stop it from running. Looking into android TSR virus issues is what led me to this page.

DOS TSR viruses

== TSRs for Windows XP? Is there a modern (2006) equivalent for Windows XP of TSRs? For instance, I have 66-73 processes running when I hit <Alt><Ctrl><Delete> to show what's running. TSRs were basically a poor-man's multitasking. You can consider any Windows process a "TSR", since it has multi-tasking out of box. 134.54.0.8 12:21, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

INT 27H

The article ignores the original INT 27H call which preceded INT 21H/31H, and as far as I know has always been existed in MS-DOS (and not just from version 2, as stated in the article). =TSR= was also a clan that existed that was known as the premier clan in the Ravenshield, Battlefield Vietnam, and Battlefield 2 worlds. The Clan later disbanded as much contact was lost but fans of one of the hottest and best clans to ever exist have seen a few members (BlazeAllmighty and Fullbreach) pop up and dominate a few servers.

"TSR is unique to DOS"

That's not true at all. In fact, it's likely that TSR use in CP/M was adapted to DOS with very little change (sadly, the section there is under-informative).

I vaguely remember playing with TSRs in CP/M, but too little remains in my head to contribute meaningfully.

Undue weight to limited use programs

I don't know what has done Borland Sidekick to merrit such a proeminent feature in the articole. I don't even know what the heck it's used for, and I've used computers since early DOS days. Borland products are at best niche.

However, the most used TSR's were the mouse driver, the sound card driver and the CD-ROM driver.
