Black Dragon Society's dragon shinjitai kanji is not 龍 but 竜. See jp:竜. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.103.135.16 (talk) 15:58, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

tokuryo-kai ??[edit]

In old issues of australian newspapers the term tokuryo-kai is used for Black Dragon Society Trente7cinq (talk) 21:48, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An Expert is needed because:[edit]

I'm seeing to much conflicting information about this group on the internet and would like to know the truth about them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.199.68.204 (talk) 00:06, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're going to need to be more specific. We need something actionable. A nebulous, "The Internet is full of errors" is something you can say about any subject, and gives no hint of what needs to be fixed about this article. --Xanzzibar (talk) 22:41, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen claims that they had agents in North America, that they had great political power in Japan during WWII, and other things. --107.199.68.204 (talk) 04:50, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Those topics are addressed in the article. You can vet the cited books and sites if you're not sure of their provenance. --Xanzzibar (talk) 07:21, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nation of Islam ties[edit]

The organization was an influence on the black nationalist organizations which were convicted of sedition in 1942, most notably Mittie Maud Lena Gordon's Peace Movement of Ethiopia. The other two organizations said to be influenced were the Brotherhood of Liberty for the Black People of America and the Nation of Islam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.181.82.94 (talk) 21:42, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's not in question. The problem is overcategorization. The Black Dragons had ties to a number of seditious groups across the globe as part of their efforts to undermine other countries, but they can hardly be called an any-race-but-Japanese supremacist organization. They're barely more than a footnote in the history of the Nation of Islam (the Nation of Islam article doesn't even mention them!). The racism navbox makes sense, but the rest are kind of tangential. --Xanzzibar (talk) 09:44, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
They are not barely a footnote, they were extremely influential to the NOI and they are the reason Elijah Muhammad went to jail for 4 years. Muhammad had convinced his followers to not register for the draft because of the Black Dragon Society.MeropeRiddle (talk) 02:19, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're overstating things. They may have been an influence on him, but you're ascribing far more weight to that than there's any reference for. When the Black Dragons don't even rise to the level of being mentioned in either the Nation of Islam or the Elijah Muhammed article, it's unlikely to be a defining characteristic useful for categorization. --Xanzzibar (talk) 00:56, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
One of their goals was to have the leaders of these organizations counsel their members to not register for the draft, which is what they went to prison for. Mittie Maude and Elijah Mohammad went to jail for counseling their members to not register for the draft because the Black Dragon Society had influenced their leaders to tell their members not to fight against the Japanese, because both the Japanese and African Americans where victims of white people. Just because data has never been entered in a Wikipedia article before doesn't been its non-defining, Wikipedia suffers from low/declining participation.
