Dear Daderot,

Please reverse the image in the photo of the Adams' graves. As depicted, both the writing on the stone and the U.S. flags are incorrectly aligned. Clearly, the flags draping the memorial stones should have the field of starts in the upper left left vice upper right corner.

Greetings! I believe that photograph is just the way I took it, and correctly represents their tombs. I agree that the flags are arranged in an unusual way, but if you look closely at the tomb engraving, you will see that "John Quincy Adams" is correctly depicted (not reversed). Although I am not a lawyer, I am fairly certain that I have *not* violated the museum's photography policy, and that its current location on the English language Wikipedia is consistent with Wikipedia policy (as I have documented in the photograph's description). Regarding File:Mazami briceni (Harvard University).JPG, the relevant practice (on Commons anyway) is that limitations of commercial photography are a matter of contract law between the photographer and the institution and have no relevant bearing on copyrights. You are still free to license the photo however you want. If you are unwilling, then the image will have to be deleted for being a replaceable non-free image. Hello there, Daderot! I'm working to reconstruct the article about I. M. Pei, and I have of course found your photo of the National Center for Atmospheric Research most helpful. Insofar as the research discusses how the buildings fit into the natural surroundings, however, I wish we had a photo that showed the lab in a larger context. Do you live in or near Boulder? I looked through my photo list, and I don't have pictures (or good enough ones) of the following places: Russell Common, Winn Farm, Stephen Symmes, Jr. House, W.W. Kimball House. I am also uncertain as to exactly which building(s) are part of the Arlington Gaslight Company. While the building at 51 Grove St might be a part of it (which I have a photo of), it is also possible that the large building in the middle of the town yard (somewhat visible from the bike path, and probably requiring permission to access the yard) is the listed structure. User cats

As you recat in Commons, it would be good if you were to be careful to leave user cats, such as Category:NRHP site pictures by User:Jameslwoodward on the individual pictures, see, for example the history of File:First Congregational Church of Hyde Park Boston MA 03.jpg, where I have just replaced it. The problem appears to be limited to the three there.

You might find User cats a neater way to have a gallery than this which, although dead simple, takes a lot of page real estate for non-gallery stuff. Eskimo Curlew photo

Hi, I just noticed that the image of a stuffed specimen was actually taken by you, this means that you can actually upload the photo freely in full size, one can't copyright a bird specimen, only art, so you should definitely reupload the image on Commons. Harvard University has notices about how photographs can be used, which I have tried to honor in my upload. I am not an attorney, and do not understand how their wishes interact with copyright laws in the US, so I have kept various Harvard University museum images on Wikipedia as "fair use" images. Could you link those images here so I can determine if they are actually free after all? I'm an admin on Wikimedia Commons, I know US law when it comes to this, and we can also get some second opinions from other admins. A museum does not own the copyright to for example fossils and other specimens of actual animals, neither of paintings that are in the public domain due to age. I am 100% sure tht you can upload the photo and others like it under whatever license you want. Can one search for images uploaded by Daderot, containing the text "This photograph is from the Harvard Museum of Natural History / Peabody Museum." Drynaria roosii

Hello. Regarding the photo taken of "Drynaria fortune" in the article, it seems that the ferns themselves are misidentified. Those are definitely not basket ferns, they look more like the common ornamental Nephrolepis ferns. You might want to tell the botanical garden about it. Hi there! Nice photo of the Central Street Railroad bridge + mill brook!

Only one problem, is that I *think* your photo is actually of a different (nearby) mill brook, not the one whose page it is on.

The Concord Mill Brook (as I understand it) runs from the Concord River more or less to Flint Pond. But the Arlington Mill Brook (where your photo was taken) runs from the Great Meadows to the Mystic River. It's confusing because both have historic railroad tracks nearby and they are within miles of each other but I'm pretty confident about this.

Hi Vivisel - Thank you for your note; it is much appreciated. I completely agree that this photograph is of the Mill Brook in Arlington, which seems to be completely distinct from that in Concord. It's a common name, and whoever created the wikipedia page seems to have gotten them confused. Although Arlington's Mill Brook is very small, it is notable as the only mill on the Cambridge side of the Charles River in early colonial days, and thus (I believe) brought a number of early roads to converge upon what is now Arlington. Amazing that such a small stream had such a large role in colonial Massachusetts.

Although I'd be glad to collaborate, somehow I've wound up being quite busy for the past few months. It does seem to me that you really know what you are talking about, and I have no misgivings about you taking charge.

It was a 92% match with the Sotheby's article, which, unless I made a mistake with my dates, must have preceded it. I came across the entry from WP:FEB24: it was a two-paragraph unreferenced stub.
