Steven Tyler?[edit]

Surely the "Steven Tyler" who wrote all the songs for this group is not the Aerosmith guy. If he is, the article should say so. Ortolan88 05:20, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Band Genre[edit]

There is a clear on-going attempt by a single user (Special:Contributions/68.108.39.12) to keep the genre as "Mormon Death Metal".

They continue use of citations on other sites where I suspect they have edited the content to support their "joke". However, using IMDB and TV.com in this capacity falls outside the Reliable Sources[1][2] guidelines for citations.

At this point, I struggle to believe that these are "good faith" edits, rather that this is vandalism/trolling, pure and simple.

For independent verification (if you really are uncertain), feel free to watch the first episode[3] and verify for yourself. Hanzo (talk) 23:39, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Brentley Gore[edit]

I still think Brentley Gore should be merged to this article because he still doesn't appear to have enough notability outside of California Dreams. And I removed the two sources in that article because the first one is simply a single mention of his name in a book; and the second one appears to be a Wikipedia mirror. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 14:13, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, I'm not sure there's enough there to even "merge", but I definitely agree that Brentley Gore doesn't merit a standalone BLP article, and that it should be converted to a redirect to here, yes. --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:20, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. Brentley has been doing a ton of stuff since the show which has not been highlighted. I don't understand why it would be a crime to allow him to have a stand alone page to detail his work since that time. I'd like to get that started. Why are we gatekeeping? 1Rhodesy (talk) 21:19, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW, the 'Cast' section at this article is also a mess, and should probably be reorganized into a more traditional cast section... --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:29, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

'Overview' vs. 'Premise'[edit]

@Erpert: While I agree the former 'Overview' section was overwritten and WP:OR-y, a much more limited selection of that could/should be used for a 'Premise' section. What was said in the previous 'Overview' was correct – the show was more of a "family sitcom" in season #1, but then the show was retooled after season #1 and the Garrison family was mostly written out for season #2 (this latter part should definitely be mentioned, even if the "family sitcom" part is left out) with the show then focusing on just the teens in the band. This can be surmised simply from watching the show. (Sources would be nice, but for a show this low-profile, I'm doubting this "retooling" got much, if any, independent notice or coverage.) Brent Gore himself was written out after season #2, and the refocus on just the band (along with the recastings) was complete by season #3.

But, before any of that happens, the 'Cast' section needs to be tackled first IMO, as it's, frankly, a mess (probably worse than the former 'Overview' section was!). --IJBall (contribstalk) 13:29, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yuck, that section was terrible. Sadly, it's hardly the only television show article on here like that, but I cleaned it up. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 21:23, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
