Needs rewriting[edit]

This article could do with a complete rewrite. It is quite inaccurate as it stands. Unfortunately, it misleadingly makes use of a book by Burton, which was re-published in 2010 (making it appear modern) but was first issued in 1912. It is completely outdated, and makes some statements that could only be made by someone who has never seen the terrain, or looked at the best sources available (such as the Oesterreiches Militaerische Zeitschrift). In short, the article is not to the standard we might hope to see from Wikipedia these days. If I have time, I may place an article about the battle on my own website, rather than try to rewrite this one.
