Hi, there seems to be general confusion about whethere the play is M Butterfly or M. Butterfly. At any rate, if it should be without the period, you can simply click "Move this page" and type in the new title to keep the history intact. Koyaanis Qatsi 04:57 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Well, it's certainly not M. Buttefly, (without the 'r'), so let's redirect this one<G> -- Someone else 05:06 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Oh, I missed that. good work.  :-) Koyaanis Qatsi 05:14 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

IMDb has "M. Butterfly". amazon.com has "M Butterfly". amazon.de has "M. Butterfly". amazon.com's CD listing has "M Butterfly". Roger Ebert has "M. Butterfly". You decide. :) -- Zoe

Unless the Library of Congress has something to say about it, maybe we should just pick one and redirect the others. Koyaanis Qatsi 05:12 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Premier on Broadway (or not?)

It seems I remembered seeing the premier in DC. Found this Washington Post (and other) citations that agree that premier was NOT in NY: http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-1239033.html Wm. Malmstrom, Clearwater, FL 70.126.98.155 (talk) 21:20, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, the [Internet Broadway Database] has M. Butterfly, so we have chosen wisely. -- Someone else 05:39 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

all this is fine. does anyone want to fill in more information about the play itself, i.e. names of characters, which I have forgotten? Vroman 05:15 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

BTW, I'm not sure "transexual" is an accurate description of the character... I'm going to change it but improved rephrasings would be gratefully accepted<G>. -- Someone else 05:55 17 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Audio Version "Miscast"[edit]

The page lists Lone and Irons as the stars of the LA Theater Works audio production.

I own this production and I know the leads are played by Lithgow and Wong. I've just looked it up again: http://www.latw.org/Audio/detail.aspx?title=M.%20Butterfly

So, I'm changing the page to reflect this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.49.80.211 (talk) 02:05, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tone[edit]

The text is informative and comprehensive - well done to all contributors - but it has the character of an essay or book chapter, not an encyclopaedia entry. Could anyone fix this without impairing the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.168.61 (talk) 18:41, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
