Fan reaction[edit]

I just wanted to say how much we enjoy the show. It's amazing how many different feelings you experience during their Monday night shows. The entire cast is fantastic ..especially Chuck. Please keep up the good work.

I enjoy the show too. I like all the cast members - but Chuck's my personal favorite.

One question about the article. Would it not be more accurate to say eccentric instead of sometimes eccentric - because I don't think there's any sort of "sometimes" when it comes to these people. JesseG 01:42, Mar 9, 2005 (UTC)

Recent statement[edit]

I found the recent statement in the article, "The show was infamous for the employees draining out blood on bodies or performing autospies. The camera crew was forced by the family to avoid showing the bodies or the show would receive complaints. The show would never air if any of the bodies were shown. The show is rated PG."

I removed the statement as its somewhat inaccurate. If an autospy was being done, it would not be done by the employees of a funeral home, and it would be done by a medical examiner - someone with a medical degree. It would also not be done at a funeral home, instead done at the coroner or medcial examiner's office.

They showed bodies but after they had been embalmed and are having make up applied or being clothed. The show was about a typical dysfunctional American family, related and not, who all worked together. Reads like a fan page.[edit]

This reads like a fan page or like it was written by someone with close ties to the family or show. Here are a few things I'm talking about.

1)"eccentric employees"- This does not sound encyclopedic.

2)Chuck has retired and lives in San Diego. He is training young fighters, (as he has for the last 40 years) and is getting ready to turn some into Professional Boxers. And another little-known tidbit about him, his uncle Johnny Weissmuller was the original Tarzan in the movies. -"(as he has for the last 40 years)" Are there any sources for this?,or any sources for any of these claims in the after cancellation section?

3)"And another little-known tidbit about him, his uncle Johnny Weissmuller was the original Tarzan in the movies" This does not sound encyclopedic either and where is the source for this?

4)"Rick Sadler was fired in March of 2007 and has subsequently been forever stripped of all of his professional Funeral licenses because of individual professional illegal activity" Any sources for this statement? And "forever stripped" sounds a little harsh,like it was written by a disgruntled employee.

I made changes to this article[edit]

I made some changes to this article,mainly I removed the parts stating where Emily,Chuck and Melissa live and where they work. There are no sources for any of the claims. Also,should a encyclopedia state where these people work and live? Wouldn't this create a liability problem stating where these people work and live?
