NPOV?[edit]

Talisker is undoubtedly one of the world's great whiskies. NPOV. Avriette Sun Feb 20 07:52:35 GMT 2005

Boy, that was a long time ago. Hi, me. Cleaned it up, per request. Avriette 18:48, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Changed the wording to make it look less like than an ad. Also corrected silly mistake in History Moitraanak (talk) 14:36, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looks like I'm the goof here. Apparently there is a Macleod of Macleod. Reverted change.Moitraanak (talk) 15:49, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

infobox[edit]

i've added an infobox, jsut for talisker so far, any suggestions for more info that oudl be needed for it, the rating at the bottom as well is not saying how good it is, but rather on the taste, this comes fom the whiskey manufacures and guide themselves, Philbentley 04:14, 9 April 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I think the Infobox principle is ok, but the standing lines in the |layout| shoud be removed Arnoutf 18:25, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is the intention for this to be an infobox for what? Whisky distilleries? All distilleries? Scotch Single Malt Whiskys? The appropriate information would vary. At first glance, it doesn't look like it has to do with the whisky at all, just the town or something. Some sort of graphic might help that, or explicitly stating 'Talisker single malt' or somesuch rather than just 'talisker'. If you keep the rating, I think it should be wikilinked to an explination, otherwise it does look like it's some sort of quality review.
I'm shaky on the way the years/vols are listed. Part of me says they would be better expressed as a table along with labels given to the year, if any. Part of me thinks this information often gets much more complex even than that with all the special edition or differently aged/limited release bottles which some distilleries produce, and it would best be left in the main text of the page.
Hope I didn't come across as too harsh here, I'm meaning to open a dialogue for improvement and dispersal of this, not to shoot it down.

Bottlings[edit]

The ages listed in the infobox don't match the 'Bottlings' section within the main text. Which is correct?? Nik The Stoned (talk) 09:20, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think either is "incorrect" as much as simply incomplete. There's definitely a 15-year out there, which is missing from the in-text list; but The Distiller's, for example, is a 12-year and missing from the infobox. There's also a 21-year missing from both lists. I don't know what the standard is as far as what is listed in the infobox - just figured I'd comment. --SesameballTalk 21:03, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page move[edit]

I am particularly keen on the recent move from "Talisker" to "Talisker distillery", given the existence of a place on the other side of the peninsula, Talisker (Talisker, Skye), which was called "Talisker" for centuries before the distillery was built. 45ossington (talk) 13:10, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I noticed a lot of distillery articles were named after the location and not the distillery so I have standardised the format across wikipedia. Cabe6403 (TalkSign) 16:42, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
