Loss[edit]

After the loss of the Kelly the British Admiralty wanted to court-martial Mountbatten for losing her through his own incompetence and poor judgement, but they were overruled. This was naturally not made public, but was fairly widely-known in the Navy at the time. After the Kelly he wasn't given another ship.

Sounds a bit rough given the situation, but if you can find a source for the above could you insert it into the article. It's a valid point. Wiki-Ed 10:27, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
A bit rough and not true. He was given command of the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious. Philip Ziegler's biography of Mountbatten makes this quite clear. -- TinaSparkle 08:50, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
AFAIK, any RN officer who loses a ship is subjected to a court of inquiry to determine the circumstances under which it was lost. I could understand how this might be misconstrued as a "court martial", but unless there is a valid source (rather than hearsay), I'd take this with a pinch of salt. --Davidbober 18:23, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Like alot of the information on the HMS Kelly page was, this is not accurate.

Displacement[edit]

I've upped the displacement figures, as my source (G.G Connell's book) said the J and K flotilla leaders were that much heavier, due to the extra equipment and facilities needed for that role. Does anyone know the source of the original figure? Was it just taken from a generic K class figure? Xyl 54 08:37, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interview with german Stuka pilot[edit]

Hello,

I am from Germany. I found this interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0vfNVhAc9A&feature=context-vrec on youtube. It is in english.

The german pilot http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinz-Georg_Wilhelm_Migeod tells about the attack of the german dive bombers at the ship Kelly.
