Sacking[edit]

Why is there no reference to the story of how Pope Paul VI could not decide whether or not to remove Cardinal Cody from office over allegations of financial and sexual impropriety? [unsigned, undated; according to the history this was posted 2005.04.08]

Why indeed? These elements are mentioned in the Paul VI entry, but not here in the entry of the man they pertain to. -Jm546 22:04, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because a reference to it wasn't contained in the sources used to create the article. As I myself don't know the details and references for it first hand, I would have qualms about adding it myself. If you do have references and details, though, feel free to add them. John Carter 16:12, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cardinal Bernardin[edit]

Why do we go into detail about Cardinal Bernardin at the end of the article? The paragraph even mentions the allegations of sexual misconduct against Bernardin. This is an article about Cardinal Cody.

I'm going to edit that article to say that Cardinal Cody was succeeded by Cardinal Bernardin and let readers read about Cardinal Bernardin in the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin article.

If you disagree, please post here, but I think this is in line with typical biographies.

Improprieties[edit]

I made a pass at including discussion and reference of improprieties, but much more could be reported about this Cardinal.

Footnote removal[edit]

I would like to remove footnote 11. It is a quote from a self-published source, and therefore fails to meet the guidelines for reliable sources. Revanneosl (talk) 20:37, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hearing no objection, I'm going to delete the footnote. I've never deleted a footnote from Wikipedia before. Pray for me.Revanneosl (talk) 18:21, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Photo[edit]

Having his photo come from a site called "Ex-Catholics for Christ" seems rather biased. I'm sure something else could be found. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.11.74.233 (talk) 03:17, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
