I deleted from this page a large body of text that I found convoluted, wildly off topic, and in violation of a considerable number of points in the Wikipedia policy.

Faedra, if you need to rant about Critical Mass and British non-IOT chaos groups of the middle 80s, please do so in the respective pages, and not on one about a group that came eight years later, in Germany, and under an entirely different premise.

My small contribution is not a rant, all facts are verifiable, even though they may appear bizarre to you, and if the item violates wikipolicy please specify so that it can be made to conform to said standards rather than delete the whole item arbitrarily just because you have some reactionary glint in your ego. As an ex active participant (non member) of the IOT, in its early days, and a co founder of the original Critical Mass I feel it should be pointed out that Riot (CM) existed, and sold its publications across the UK, Greece, Australia, and elsewhere, and so does not wish to be confused with those renegades you have mentioned in your stub.

I shall not be loosing any sleep over this disagreement however, some knowledge is clearly not suitable for wikipedia, but if you do not wish to know about sub cultural splinter groups and free thinking collectives, does that mean they never existed? Faedra 08:40, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Oh, I do find sub cultural splinter groups and free thinking collectives highly interesting and certainly worthwhile of their own pages at Wikipedia, such as the excellent one you created concerning Critical Mass. However, since the topic is obviously quite remote from the topic it was meant to be about (if the link in Illuminates of Thanateros is any indication), mixing the two on a single page doesn't make sense. Perhaps you'd like to add it to the Critical Mass article, or a new page RIOT (Critical Mass)?

Even so, I don't think much of the latter portion of your text is valuable for an encyclopaedic format. Bits like "It is nevertheless unwise to become so involved with group activity to reach the point of sublimation of the personal identity (whatever it represents to you)." are entirely inappropriate in this place - they might be valuable in activist groups, if marked as the opinions they are. On the other hand, "Chaos was a term in use by occultists in Kent (and no doubt elsewhere) before it was officially adopted by the IOT" seems like an excellent addition to the Chaos Magic article, which lacks this bit of info. Of course the Chaos term could be traced back all the way to Uncle Al if one really wants to.

Logic worthy of mr Spock, and I take your point, and may rework said data at some point. The problem I have is that I have been involved in several extremely obscure anarcho pagan groups that have since merged into other collectives, and I do feel they are worthy of encyclopedic reference, its just the context that is at this time difficult to find.

It is at least gratifying to realise that you have an interest in the subject and are not just reacting out of fear or disbelief, this would really piss me off. I note you still have not identified yourself, but thanks for the feedback, it will be put to some use sometime later at the wiki. Faedra 20:59, 8 Jul 2004 (UTC)
