108 seems t0 be an abbreviation of 120

108 seems short of 120, which then would be a 12 with the factor 10, but 108 would be a with the factor of 9.

So the 120 does not get leaked. 120 also seems to be divisible by 20, then leaving the 108 a 100. A 100 (german native speakers) with an 8, but 128 (like the 128 bit nano computer would be like) would be a 120 with an 8, one more factor (or multitude) of one (20). So 5 times but not 4 times a 20. But with a lucky number eight.

So 100 or 120 would have an additional eight: 108 or 128. But the difference (delta) is 20 - again. Lucky number eight!

The lucky number resembles the symbol for infinity rotated by 90 degrees.

The page says 108 is a Tetranacci number, this page redirects to Fibonacci number, and 108 is not a Fibonacci number, since the first ones are 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987, 1597, 2584, 4181, 6765, 10946, … So either it is not a Tetranacci number or Tetranacci number should not redirect to Fibonacci number if they are not the same thing. --ReiVaX 18:07, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

Problem with that sentence: the word "Mala" is linked to an article that does not cover malas (prayer beads on a string for counting mantras during meditation), but another meaning of mala: first sentence of link target is: "The Malas are a large geographically dispersed caste found in Andhra Pradesh and several other states of India."

Where are the reliable sources that use the term dharmic religions in the context of this article? Dharmic religions is a now deleted obscure neologism and should not be used throughout Wikipedia. a good alternative is Indian religions. The number of google scholar results for "Indian religions"+"Indian religion" is (45.600 + 84.200) while it is only (492+475) for "dharmic religions" +"dharmic religion". Numerology and astrology

Hindu Kshatriya Dhangars have 108 clans. The lineage of these clans is from solar and lunar dynasties. It should be noted that the diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth. The distance from the Sun to the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. The average distance of the Moon from the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Moon.

"It should be noted..." this language shows obvious bias. Not only are these coincidences being used cum hoc ergo propter hoc to support the claim of the Dhangars's lineage, but the numbers themselves are inaccurate. Biased numerologists can pre-suppose conditions to the measurements (equitorial diameter of the Earth? Polar diameter? average diameter? Lunar orbit at apogee or perigee? Measured from center of the Earth, to the center of the Moon, or from surface to surface, or from the center of mass of the Earth-Moon system?) in order to make the answers fit their foregone conclusions, which only serves to dilute the useful information in the article. -Mozai (talk) 04:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

This line is odd...

In the "In Eastern religions" section, adding the digits of 108 together and that equaling 9 (which is relevant in some religion or another). However, the sentence after that confuses me.

"If you divide 108 by 2 or multiply by 2 the total of all digits again equals 9."

Maybe it's just because it's late and I'm tired, but that really makes very little sense to me. Could anyone possibly clarify and rewrite that sentence? Thanks. --kaoskastle (Talk) 07:25, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

when 108 is divided by 2, it equals 54, and 5+4=9, and when you multiply 108 by 2, it equals 216, and 2+1+6=9, it's just a normal fact that most people learn in school that the digits in any multiple of 9 always add up to be either 9 or another multiple of 9 Blah42b10 (talk) 15:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Broken reference, inaccurate statements

In astronomy

• In ancient India, Vedic seers had calculated the following distances which modern scientific measurements have reconfirmed:
  • The distance between the Earth and Moon is 108 times the diameter of the Moon (true)
  • The distance between the Earth and Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Sun (true)
  • The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth (close - the number is closer to 109.2 )

Problems:

• The reference is a broken link.
