I think that synopsis is a bit too long/detailed... let people read it for themselves; it's a short story no?

---

Is the character called "Stackhurst", "Stackhouse", or "Stackworth"? Or are these three different characters? -Mmaster 11:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

---The character's name is Stackhurst, and I've corrected the reference to Stackhouse. Jandar (talk) 03:32, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--- Why isn't this story on Project Gutenberg? just took a look and it doesn't seem to be there... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.109.148.249 (talk) 08:50, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

---This story was originally published in 1926, and is likely still under copyright protection in the United States (post-1923). Jandar (talk) 03:32, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--- 'The adventure of the musgrave ritual' too is narrated by Sherlock holmes himself, there is a mistake in the last paragraph. check out the wikipedia page on it. grafitti123 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.172.85.241 (talk) 04:19, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

---This could be argued either way, but in the Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual Watson records a conversation in which Holmes describes the case. In the other two stories Holmes himself is described as putting pen to paper and recording the cases. It's a small distinction, but this is why the Musgrave Ritual is often excluded from the list of Holmes-narrated stories Jandar (talk) 03:41, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What about Dr Mordhouse?[edit]

The existence of a draft of this adventure with a co-protagonist called Dr Mordhouse is mentioned in https://books.google.ie/books?id=uWAiAQAAQBAJ&pg=PA1691&lpg=PA1691&dq=%22The+Lion%E2%80%99s+Mane%22+mordhouse&source=bl&ots=ViOQaQ1-Je&sig=ACfU3U2A1qw6gddpnAMM4tc7-7DA_YnBJw&hl=es&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi0sazm3MHvAhVITcAKHZrJDTUQ6AEwD3oECBEQAw#v=onepage&q=%22The%20Lion%E2%80%99s%20Mane%22%20mordhouse&f=false "The new annotated sherlock holmes" but without an analysis good enough for the wikipedia. It would be interesting to have some other sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.27.39.177 (talk) 15:47, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I found a second source and have added a few lines to the article about the original manuscript. Miles26 (talk) 21:51, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
