Untitled[edit]

This page needs some work which I intend to do shortly. The area of "Gunnersbury" derives its name entirely from the park and this page should reflect that, rather than mentioning it only in the context of the school. Peter Maggs 14:43, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree totally that Gunnersbury derives its name mainly from the park. Whoever wrote the main text has probably never even noticed Gunnersbury Park, Gunnersbury Lane (A406), Gunnersbury Avenue, Gunnersbury Park Estate, Gunnersbury Triangle Sports and Social Club, International School at Gunnersbury, Gunnersbury Cemetery etc. The fact that the London Transport station is called Gunnersbury probably only means that they didn't want a "West Chiswick" station. Acton Town station was similarly erroneously named, being about 2/3 mile from Acton Town itself.

I have added a couple of photos and changed the line about area (half a square km, not km square)and also the position relative to Chiswick. This is a bit of a nit-pick, but as it read, there was a separation between Chiswick and Gunnersbury, which is not correct. In fact, it could be argued that Gunnersbury is a local area within Chiswick rather than a separate area - but I have avoided this issue by the factual reference to postal district, which will allow anyone to know where it is. What's included?[edit]

The page is about an 'area' or 'place'. This is not clearly defined. The map shows a point, rather than a coverage. Is this supposed to be about the Gunnersbury Ward? If so, then this includes part of the TW8 postal code, as well as W5. DavidFarmbrough 23:37, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
