Gay Icon Project[edit]

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 21:56, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Date of birth[edit]

It is different than on Find-A-Grave. Lincher 16:35, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The dates match the The New York Times article from November 29, 1976 which states "died yesterday of cancer" Quebec99 (talk) 01:38, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rosalind Russell Center for Arthritis Research[edit]

Is this institution named in her honor relevant to the article? Apparently she did campaign for awareness of arthritis after being diagnosed with the disease. Ern Malleyscrub (talk) 05:26, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it is relevant. Rosalind Russell had Rheumatoid Arthritis, before the existence of the new drugs which make a semi-normal life possible for people today. Anyone who has suffered from this or a similar auto-immune arthritis disease and has gone untreated for any length of time knows how debilitating doing so can be; it is nothing short of miraculous that Russell was able to give the world so many wonderful performances in spite of her condition. This information is very relevant if we are to understand her as a person. Bettinadifiore (talk) 14:27, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find anyplace to add these facts without it looking awkward. So I'll leave it up to you.Russell's rheumatoid arthritis caused her to become heavily dependent on cortisone injections the last decade of her life. And as anyone can see, this drastically altered her physical appearance to a "matronly"look. But it's doubtful she could have functioned regularly WITHOUT cortisone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.23.5.11 (talk) 13:29, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
