2004 Comment[edit]

This page needs to be reclassified or heavily edited, as nearly all the words listed are not used commonly in English. They may be commonly used in Australian English, and a few of those Australian English words are used commonly in English, such as "boomerang". Perhaps this should be moved to List of Australian English words of Australian Aboriginal Origin. Tritium6 17:57, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Associated category[edit]

The Category:Australian Aboriginal words and phrases gives this page as the main article. The Category has just been renamed, but I think I see another problem. I realise this is the english language wiki but the named could be more accurate. - Fr ed 13:21, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict about word origin[edit]

This article implies "boondocks" is of Australian Aboriginal origin, while the "boondocks" article says it is of Tagalog origin. Which is correct? 206.9.215.136 (talk) 15:40, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

English words often falsely assumed to be of Australian Aboriginal origin[edit]

I know the whole article is sparsely referenced. But this section seems to me to be completely worthless without references that show that said false assumption is common. (cf Talk:List of common misconceptions - criteria 2 and 4). I was tempted to be BOLD and simply delete it, but thought I should bring it up at the talk page first. --ColinFine (talk) 18:44, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
