I took out the following because I found it irrelevant, especially since the list is by no means complete.

" In Nijmegen schools, a hospital and a street are named after him. "

Did he die?no he is still alive[edit]

Sad; such an important historical figure, and such a poorly written entry! There is so much sound historical scholarship on the early years of the Jesuit Order and its proponents, and yet what is used here and quoted from is mostly (catholic) encyclopedic articles and equally catholic apologetic literature—the outside perspective is entirely missing. Is there no historian of religion or catholicism who could do Peter Canisius justice with a good overview article in the English (!!)
