I don't understand this. None of these Victoria Cross recipients seems to have a birth date or a death date. Shouldn't we add this? Don't you think it is essential in a biography? <KF> 23:07, Nov 27, 2004 (UTC)

This list seems to be duplicated in parts, such as List of Victoria Cross recipients by Name - H. Which list is the master, and shouldn't one of the go away? Lou I 20:56, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

All VC recipients on this discussion list have now been moved to the main English recipients VC list, after confirmation of their birth & place dates in England.

Thank you.

George Fleming

PS: It is necessary that all English VC recipients on this list have birth & place dates in England (village,Town City) included to confirm their English nationality. Remembering VCs born in the UK (Scotland, England, Wales & Ireland before nationality act of 1949) were all British citizens.

To define whether a VC is to be listed under Scottish, Welsh, English or Irish recipients lists it is then imperative their birth dates & place names are inclosed to define their countries of origin.

This information can be found in all three editions of 'The Register of the Victoria Cross' 1981, 1988 & 1997.
