The page was an exact copy of Gin_people_of_China, so I made it a redirect page. However, I noticed that nothing links to The Gin people of China, so the redirect is not needed. Delete it, since it's uneccesary. --Yuje 12:15, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • You are right that it's unnecessary and a non-standard name. However, redirects are cheap and they also preserve the contribution history which is a requirement of GFDL. Our general policy is to keep redirects unless they are deliberately misleading, patently offensive or get in the way of an article which belongs at that name. Keep harmless redirect. • Stop me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't "preserve the contribution history" only apply if a merge had taken place? It seems to me like 68.122.34.135 copied and pasted her/his own text, so that's really not a concern. - RedWordSmith 18:23, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)
      • Comment: At the time I reviewed the history, it appeared that two other users had already edited the article (though, admittedly, they were minor changes). If I misinterpreted the history, of course that argument would not apply. Rossami (talk)
  • Keep harmless redirect, also this technically belongs in WP:RFD, not here. siroχo 22:57, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)
