This seems to be much the same technology as used against Drosophila melanogaster in Australia by the AAEC in the 1960s, and by the IAEA in Africa also against fruit flies (I don't know which species). Andrewa 16:40, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Made-up name, redundant content[edit]

As best as I can tell from some Googling (e.g.: "Sterile atomic fly" -wikipedia -[a bit of the article]), all uses of the term "Sterile atomic fly" derive from this article, most or all by reproducing it. This is a new name, and not well chosen -- "atomic fly"?

Since all but a little of the content is in either tsetse fly or sterile insect technique, this article should be folded into them and dropped.
