Sea of Japan[edit]

I must say, excellent work at keeping things NPOV with the Sea of Japan. I have been battling these guys for a long time and it gets frustrating. It is nice to have some help.Masterhatch 2 September 2005

It has been a week now of non-stop reverting. It is really starting to annoy me. I have other Wiki-projects on the go and he is taking precious time away from them. Why hasn't an administrator blocked this guy? or atleast given him a warning? I am starting to feel that the only way to solve this problem is to have the guy blocked. He just doesn't seem to understand anything put forward to him. Any thoughts? Masterhatch 6 September 2005

I feel the same way. I've been wasting too much time on the guy. He really should be blocked. First we need to follow the three revert rule, otherwise we'll be blocked as well. Once the conditions --- we're following the 3RR, and he isn't --- are met, let's report the violation and request for blocking him on Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/3RR. I went and reviewed some of the issues that appleby had a problem with, and to try and smooth things out, I removed this sentence: The results shows that the Korean study is totally inadequate. I explained it on the talk page, but I actually agree with appleby on this one. It draws a conclusion in a dispute (even though it is the correct conclusion) and this article isn't about who is right or wrong in the dispute. This article simply states the facts from the dispute. Appleby has gone way overboard and it is getting out of hand. Seriously, something needs to be done. He has almost completely re-written the article (for his verion). I have made changes to the "should be" version, but nothing as drastic as what he has done. his version is starting to read like a VANK site. It isn't just a couple of sentences that he keeps reverting, but almost the entire article. Masterhatch 18:31, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Finally he was warned by an admin on his talk page. If he violates the 3RR next time, I'm sure he will be blocked. If it doesn't work, we need to resort to one of four options listed in Wikipedia:Conflict_resolution#Further_dispute_resolution. The process is very tedious, but that's the way in Wikipedia. I am getting frustrated by Appleby. I get the feeling he won't quit until the dispute page reads like a VANK page. I have tried being gracious and patient with him, but i am running out of patience. If you could throw your two-bits in on the occasions, that would be very helpful, especially when dealing with that undated unverifiable map list he wants in there. It seems that he only wants to deal with me about this dispute, but I am not the only wikipedian and I am getting tired of this one-on-one BS with him. That's it for me. I have had enough with Appleby. I tried reasoning with him but he just doesn't get it. I am stepping away from it for a while. The article has gone from slightly Japanese POV three weeks ago to its current state of actually becoming Korean POV. I made lots of compromises to try and resolve the issue, but he kept wanting more. He would make POV edits to counter what he thought were Japanese POV edits. Instead of writing NPOV to remove what he thought of as POV, the wrote POV to counter. Honestly, when i see that sort of stuff i just pull my hair out and feel like screaming. My wiki-stress went through the roof and I feel it is best for me to step away. Anyways, the last version on the article that I did is very well written and if you want to revert back to anything, you can revert back to my last version. Hey, so if you still have anything you want to say about the linguistical qualities of my translation, and whether or not "shimau" implies something "ended/happened suddenly", feel free to post as much as you want about it on my talk page! But please don't clog up the Comfort women talk page more than necessary, it's going to be nightmare for people going through all superfluous comments, including but not limited to our conversation, which to the comfort women article is ENTIRELY SUPER-DUPER pointless, but to you and me immensely interesting!! Your English seems very good for a Japanese (if that's what you are), but your latest comments to the comfort women talk page do puzzle me.

Now, in no way is the suggestion that the word, in this context conveys a sense of it being "unfortunate", based on the suggestion that something "suddenly" happened/ended, and I cannot imagine that any native speaker of English would interpret it that way. Additionally, you suggest that I "only rely on (my) interpretation of the entire context of the Ikeda's blog entry". No. I have presented a dictionary entry and I have already told you I ran it through a Japanese native speaker. Stop acting daft. What good do you think this is gonna do to the Comfort Women article? Or for exactly what purpose are you being such a bore? Making me stay up late? Well, congrats, you succeeded. The article is already protected because of the edit wars, now let's try and reach a consensus before it becomes unprotected, instead of wasting more time on highly counterproductive nit-picking. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Hamamatsu. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. You should take Neier's warning seriously. You broke the WP:3RR rule. The only reason I haven't blocked you for it is because it doesn't look like you were made aware of the rule before breaking it. Now you know, so please stop. I do not consider the first edit to be a revert. Thus I don't think I broke the 3RR. I waited for more than a week for responses from Neier and Rhialto, but they haven't done so even though they edited other pages over the period. I regarded that as a consensus, thus resulting in the first edit above. I tried to work out towards a consensus on a talk page, but it is Neier and Rhialto who reverted the article without explanation. I even asked them not to revert it until we reach a consensus, but they ignored. --Tkh 20:28, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
