Good article. I think it would be nice to have some more information on the other people who came up with some of the programs. Besides FDR, I see the Ickes is mentioned, but Arthur J. Altmeyer and Edwin E. Witte and Henry Morgenthau, Jr. contibuted too. (I just happened to be working on bio's of the original heads of the social security today, which is how I happen to know about these guys). You could also talk about the supreme court. A fair criticism, but Altmeyer, Witte, and Morgenthau may come up more in some of the individual entries on the specific programs. There is some detail on the "court-packing" scheme, but it can be expanded... I'll do it if you don't beat me to it first. Thanks. JBurnham 05:18, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

• Object. 1) The article needs a decent lead section, giving an overview of the topic and summarizing the article. 2) It seems unnecessary to present a list of persons involved, when most of them are already mentioned in the article. "See also" would be a more commonly used title for this section. 3) The article should care not to mix opinion and fact. Sentences like "What many considered incoherence of the New Deal's ideology might more accurately be characterized as ..." should be reviewed. 4) I doesn't get clear to my why the First Hundred Days are singled out (and capitalized). 5) There's an explicit "historical assessment" of Roosevelt's second term, but not for his first. 6) Also, I'd like to see an overview of contemporary critique?
