You're Welcome[edit]

You're welcome. Also if you haven't already you might want to put Kavy's user page on your watchlist- it was also vandalised. -JCarriker 22:11, May 4, 2005 (UTC)

Talk about mummar[edit]

In my World history class, mummar is a very viable figure that is located on page 23, he was a man from the ancient times when hammaurabi ruled the ages. all the information i have wrote is correct, and my teacher is a user on these sites and he said he would give me extra credit if i made a page, it is due tommorow, so if you wait a day or 2 it would be greatly appreciated

  • Thanks for coming here to talk. I can certainly appreciate your desire for extra credit, but as the page is at the moment it is considered vandalism. If you will change it into something more resembling an encyclopedia article I'll be happy to leave it alone. I'll even watch out for it during the next two days. --Canderson7 02:22, May 5, 2005 (UTC)

Table of contents (TOC)[edit]

Hi, We we're talking about making a table of contents earlier, and if you haven't already found out, the information can be found below.

For each article with more than three headings, a table of contents (TOC) is automatically generated from the section headings, unless:

  • (for a user) preferences are set to turn it off
  • (for an article) in the edit box the code __NOTOC__ is added

I pasted this from [[1]]

So, this post, created a TOC.

New Class of User[edit]

Hi, I posted something, that I figure you may be interested in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28proposals%29#A_New_Class_of_User Collins.mc

Thank you[edit]

For deleting my mistake. I am suprised somone got it that quick. I am not a vandal just kind of a newb, sorry. EDIT: do'h ok It's at the bottom now.

Thanks for your message in my discussion place[edit]

You wanted me a breif review of the problem.

Mindspillage (talkcontribs), Texture (talkcontribs), Rhobite (talkcontribs), TenOfAllTrades (talkcontribs), android (talkcontribs), Zscout370 (talkcontribs), Sockatume (talkcontribs), roozbeh (talkcontribs). The above people deleted my first scientific article by collecting 8 negative votes (all of them have been paid at a few hours!), changed ALL other positive votes as it is recorded in the history of the page[2]. I complain about this intrigue.[3]. For example: one of the removings: [4], one attack to one voter: [5] and so forth. See how many times these peaple placed their negative point of view in different places of the page only in a few hours.

Since this vantal BAND of admins/users are guilty, they cannot decide anymore about my Article Iranian Physics News. In addition to this vandalism, some of therse users placed a doubtful comment behid each one of the positive vote, to change the situation for their benefits. I want a neutral judgement, and immediate re-creation of the article. I strongly want other administrators of wikipedia to judge about their fault and obvious vandalism. I think only an expert in physics understands what means that Iranian Physics News has been linked to and as a creditable, of good standing and reliable Newswebpage from within the Institutes like Institute of Advanced Study of Basic Science [6], Quantum Diaries [7], The University of Alzahra [8] and The Selim and Rochel Benin School of Computer Science and Engineering [9] so on . They have motivated their colleagues to follow the notable News Website of Iranian Physics News. It seems not to be easy to get the attention of the mind of many researchers.

Some of these vandals placed a doubtful comment behid each one of the positive vote too, to change the situation for their benefits, and deleted some of them! In addition to this vandalism, some of therse users placed a doubtful comment behid each one of the positive vote, to change the situation for their benefits. The author of the words wants a neutral judgement under the supervision of some neutral admins out of this guilty network, and immediate re-creation of the article and thier official excuses. I strongly want other administrators of wikipedia to judge about their fault and obvious vandalism. They have personal problem with the author of these words (by having a qiuck look at the many negative comments they have made in here [10] to win) and may not be suitable for furthure judgement. It is obvious that I will write an article about the vandalism and black networking between these admin/users and will send my documents to some of the well-known scientific websites to warn them about the hiiden problem of Wikipedia.- A defender of scientific part of wikipedia against networking. -Hamidifar

The crimes of this network are:

1) They deleted 7 of postive votes. (for example [11] other links given above) under the sentense that these people have been motivated to vote here because they have been requested to vote for IPN in wikipedia and these new users are ignorant,
2) They attacked to the comments of positive voters many times under the sentence that these people are ignorant of the story and their claim is wrong [12] or evidence that they are one (Like this [13]),
3) During only 1 hour and 30 minutes they paid some negative votes repeatedly via different users or unkown users. All of the action have been recorded in the history of the page,
4) Roozbeh humilated the voters by labeling them non-contributer like this [14]. He/she struggled to increase the vvalue of a few people and decrease others votes under different humilating comments,
5) These people circulated in the vote page and placed many different comments on different places to force their nagative point of view to others. (another absolute crime),
6) At time: 22:37 UTC Rhohite placed a vprotection above the (article + vfd) and mentioned that this page is not allowed for furthur edit until the discussion (a link to the discussion page of Iranian physics news) is in progress,
7) The article finally deleted 6 hours after placing the vprotected command and all of the discussions have been deleted immediately. It is obvious that reffering to item 6 the discussion cannot be completed in 6 hours! and this action is called forcing personal point of view.

Obviously this network of admin/users decided to rule out a new user, whose first article was scientic, valid and absolutely notable. I request immediate re-creation of my first article and excuse of this network of admin/users from the author of these words. A copy of the official complain has been sent to the founder of Wikipedian Jimmy Donal Wales for furthur investigation. I'll be waiting for his and other administrators of wikipedia. A defender of wikipedia against networking -Hamidifar

Hi there,

You may be interested to see, regular disclaimer on vandal Rovoam to get a better idea of whom you are/were dealing with and who have attacked you and vandalized your user page today. As seen in disclaimer, some of the entries he vandalizes had to be vprotected, but he's still vandalizing many entries, as well as disrupting normal operations in Caucasus entry. I hope you will carefully read the disclaimer and decide for yourself how are you going to go about this vandal.--Tabib 16:22, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)

Hello canderson7[edit]

sorry for vandilizing wiki the other night... i am Qwaz, though you might have realised that cos my IP hasnt changed yet. I was about to vandalise your page to give you a message and put the this page has been vandalised count up to 21 LOL. But then i realised you had this page specifically for messages. What i was wondering is can i send people messages on wikipedia, becuase i got a message off someone that just like popped up asking me not to vandalise wiki. Im not planning to vandalise wiki anymore and ive realised how to put back editing i have done now aswell, so after messing about with wiki i can put it back. Anyways good work on wiki canderson :) 195.112.44.225 (talk • contribs)

Windows Vista[edit]

I've just looked at the history of the deleted Windows is gay!, and the only person who appears to have edited that is "User:SecretIondon". I'm very sorry to hear about this--I certainly didn't mean to erase your edits in the history. I'm not sure how this could have happened, as I certainly didn't perform a cut-and-paste fix of the page-move vandalism; I can only suspect a database hiccup, but I'm not sure of the specifics. I'd recommend you post this on Wikipedia:Village pump (technical), which might be more useful to you. I hope this turns out well, and apologize profusely for the inconvenience. Best, Meelar (talk) 20:57, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

Yes, that was it--there were 400~ edits at that deleted page. I've restored it and moved it back to the correct location, so the full history should be there now. Thanks for the help. Best wishes, Meelar (talk) 21:43, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

Admin[edit]

No problem. I was looking at your edit history, and with the sheer amount of vandal reverting you do, you'd probably find great utility in admin tools (see WP:ADMIN). If you'd like me to nominate you, just let me know on my talk page. Best wishes, Meelar (talk) 21:49, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

Beautiful people[edit]

It's not a test, Canderson. Beautiful people was a specific term used to refer to young people of the counterculture, and it's a lot more relevant to link it to that than beauty. Please stop reverting my change. 66.51.222.190 (talk • contribs)

Congratulations![edit]

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 16:13, 30 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

unnecesary heading[edit]

HI, I see you removed the "Subcategories and articles" header in Category:Mathematics. I know it's ugly, but it's needed to keep the "Subcategories and articles" link working (although it's broken at the moment, because of unknown reasons.) I'd personally see the "Subcategories and articles" link and header gone, but you might want to discuss this with the editors of Template:Eight_portals_links first. Cheers, --R.Koot 01:08, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The best solution would be if the existing "Subcategories" header was preceded by
<a name="subcategries"/>
but I think this would require a change in MediaWiki. --R.Koot 01:25, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir, why do you insist on blocking me when I’m doing everyone a service by diverting their attention to the talented journalist SEE-ROOS FARIVAR, rather than the mundane and possibly villainous article they requested to see? I believe our society is infected by a number of diseases, including hair, terrorism, vandalism and syphilis. The only cure for these deeply rooted issues is to divert attention from them to something better. To something positive! Cyrus Farivar is an American hero and deserves the villainous attention these other subjects were going to get. So, my friend, if that makes me a vandal, then I don’t want to be the Holy Roman Empire. Good day, Sir! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.93.209.68 (talkcontribs) 21:44, August 7, 2005

Terrorism article snafu / vandal?[edit]

Someone just deleted a good-sized section of the Terrorism article, giving no reason -- the "Terrorism and immigration in Europe" section -- he calls himself Finnishing and I can't find any pages here for that, and so I don't know how to contact him to discuss.

I noticed you recently did a cleanup on the page. So pls advise what to do in this instance?

--Kessler 20:20, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! That's some service... Thanks very much.
So you must already have known this Finnishing guy pretty well... There must be a killfile routine built in here somewhere for blocking these automatically: I'll root around in the policy stuff to find out -- I'm new.
Next time it happens I'll try a revert myself, then -- first having tried to reach the poster / troll in person, of course -- I suppose that's how it's done... Enjoy your Monday.

Vandalism claim misplaced[edit]

You and CryptoDerk's (or his Java client's) claim that my additions of Rhapsody Playlists to musician's sites is vandalism, does not disobey any of the rules that I can see and therefore is not vandalism.

If I rubbed you that it was self promotion, I was merely stating that I have enough popularity already and that I would mention wikipedia's mistreatment in my blog which on a certain month got about 113,000 hits and is the most popular according to google for rhapsody playlists. And don't get the wise idea that people visitng your discussion page are going to contribute to my hits, nice try, I'm just showing you where I stand and that I don't really care about the promotion claims because I've done well without spreading the word much. And besides I haven't made a dime off my site, I just like to share with others good/bad stuff that I've found out, for instance I have a reference to the cheapest and best mp3 player I've found (probably from china, but I use mine for listening to podcasts), I'm not promoting K-Mart with a line of new clothes or anything..

My interest is to add playlists that contain all the content from a particular musician on Rhapsody, for that musician on wikipedia.

Albeit, Rhapsody is a commercial service it does offer 30 second clips of every song included in the playlist to those who aren't paying customers. Other drawbacks of Rhapsody include that it only runs on Windows and not the Mac (Apple made their iPod's incapable of playing Rhapsody's DRMs on iPod, so don't blame Real). However, I prefer it because its the most complete legal online music collection, containing complete albums from musicians and not a collection of songs (being the old fogey I am, I think something is lost when you are listening just to songs). And it isn't exactly music history, but there is a huge collection of classical music. It's just that wikipedia lacks the multi-sensory experience it will not have through contributions, so I offer references for people who wish to complete the feeling. You read about Bryan Ferry, you listen to Bryan Ferry, you read about Joe Jackson, you listen to Joe Jackson, see?

Also, if wikipedia offered the capability of uploading files with the "rpl" extension, I wouldn't have to host them on my site. But if you see me going around adding playlists to a bunch of musicians, this is only because it doesn't take me long to create the playlists, but I've bought CD's from most of the musicians I had playlists to, so this isn't so much a mindless addition of stuff to musicians sites.. I know that you are using CryptoDerk's javaclient to do Regular Expression matches and other such things to trace edits to pages and use this application to label people as vandals without discerning the changes to the pages, this is another one of my gripes, but if you didn't have so much vandalism you wouldn't need these applications, I know, in my bio I describe a suggestion I have for wikipedia about handling reverts that may offer an incremental way of managing the pages when changes are made by presenting a random sampling of the users of wikipedia to decide whether a edit is needed or not, causing a revert, allowing users of wikipedia to make the decision about a revert and not a admin who may not really care, or have the time. --Rofthorax 18:43, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
