Jim C. Perry[edit]

This seems like someone took good time to write this article, but I could come up with one for myself that would contain equally impressive information. I feel that the subject in this article is not notible enough to warrant his own entry on Wikipedia. I didn't get one single Google hit on him either Delete --ScottyBoy900Q 23:14, 04 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Not notable except for his political position, which is about as minor as you can get. RickK 23:30, Oct 4, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Does not seem to be notable. If he really was well known in Massachusetts politics, you'd think he would have been mentioned in one of the newspapers in the state. Gwalla | Talk 00:55, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Non-notable. SWAdair | Talk 03:51, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Claim to fame appears to be as an unsuccessful candidate for a minor post. Average Earthman 08:59, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep Found informative regarding individual in question. MSTCrow 00:18, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep I found numerous articles online when I search on google with his name in Parenthesis "Jim C. Perry". I happen to live in his hometown, he is a columnist for the local paper and bimonthly his columns appear in the Boston Herald. Researcher 00:18, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep I too have found a good number of articles related to this person while searching Google. He does seem to be up and coming, so I say keep. Wish to remain anonymous 12:21 AM, Oct 8, 2004 (UTC)
The above two votes are from the same IP who only has two contributions, those votes. --Golbez 04:21, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, no evidence of notability in article. "fined $15 in 1998 for civil disobedience, tearing posted signs off of tree on private property..." doesn't really cut it. About 100 google hits -- not all about this Jim C. Perry, and apart from his own geocities page and blog there's nothing about him -- it's just member listings for various organizations, messageboard posts, lists of attendees at functions, signatures on online petitions, and so forth. For all I know the sock puppet's right and he really is "up and coming", but I don't think he merits an article till he's come up a good deal further. Pnot 08:58, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Non-notable. --Viriditas 10:52, 8 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, for all the reasons that Pnot gives.--Jll 11:40, 8 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete the article and photo. Political wannabes are a special category of delete, IMO. When they appear here, they're already, by definition, self-promoters, so one needs to look extra closely at the claims. Even without my glasses, though, this one is superbly non-notable. • Keep. Seems to be somewhat notable on the state level. Gamaliel 21:02, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Local political activism does not constitute notability. RadicalSubversiv E 23:54, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
