Glaciation or Ice Age[edit]

Shouldn't articles glaciation and Ice Age be merged? In any case the difference is not clearly indicated so as to justify different articles. This confusion also persists in the articles in other languages. Afil 18:42, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, which is why I added the merge tags. As well, the word 'glaciation' usually refers to the physical process of glaciation and should probably be a redirect to 'glacier'; 'glaciate' and 'glaciated' already are. The way, the truth, and the light 05:33, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since it's been 5 days with no comments, I'm merging. This article will be dumped into Ice Age, then redirected to Glacier. Please don't edit while I'm moving. The way, the truth, and the light 10:02, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page now redirects to Glacial period which in turn has no clear explanation of the term glaciation (it doesnt even appear in the intro and only appears in limited context in the body text). I've added a wiktionary link in side box but i'm not really sure if thats the best solution, either. I originally came here from the Climate change page after a brain freeze about what the term meant exactly. PrBeacon (talk) 08:33, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Change to DAB page[edit]

It's a long time since anyone commented on this talk page. From the perspective of pages which link here, this is a more of a liability than an asset, so I've changed to a DAB function.

They say "X is a glaciation" oblivious to whether it's bigger than a bread box (ice age) or smaller than a bread box (glacial period).

The DAB structure will warn them to get it right. — MaxEnt 23:30, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
