  • Comment This article gives me a mild sense of nausea. So I really, really, really hate to point this out, but isn't the claim that "Mater Dei is the largest Catholic High school west of the Mississippi River" a fairly specific claim of notability? Their website puts it a little differently: "Current enrollment: 2,200 students; largest non-public school west of Chicago."
    • The earth being round and all, everything is west of Chicago. Wyllium 02:40, 2004 Nov 14 (UTC)
  • Keep, if it's cleaned up. Verifiable stuff, like notable graduates, specific athletic or academic distinctions, whatever. "the largest Catholic High school west of the Mississippi" is notable, if verified (though it makes me wonder what the largest in the US is).

  • Actually, Mater Dei is a very well-known athletic school. Its football and basketball programs are notable. I therefore vote Keep and suggest it be listed on Cleanup. RickK 05:45, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, notability established. Now a dull stub on a notable topic. -- Jmabel | Talk 05:45, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Not notable. Largest X school in X area is not a way to notability. --Improv 15:47, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. Article appears to weakly establish notability. --Goobergunch 22:16, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge I don't think excellence in athletics or education is particularily notable, in this context. For example, of the North American schools known to the rest of the world, I'd bet that there are no (real!) highschools. rmbh 00:13, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep Very notable high school – if we're not keeping this, we should probably keep very few high schools. Not to say that article doesn't need help; it does, but should be kept and improved. Rlquall 02:12, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Some of us do think we should keep very few high schools. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 03:20, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Some of us think we should keep any sensible high school articles, or merge shorter non-notable ones with the accompanying town article. zoney talk 11:24, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. Apart from the fact that the concept of notablity is bogus, this should be kept. Intrigue 04:15, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
