There deserves to be a discussion on Laissez-faire economy in 19th century America, I think, as it led to trust-busting and sweeping economic reforms. Or, cite that and an example of where Laissez-faire capitalism has been in place for a long time, untouched. LockeShocke 21:43, Jan 19, 2005 (UTC)

Hong Kong[edit]

"Economist Milton Friedman and the Cato Institute consider Hong Kong the best example of laissez-faire capitalism model." — really?--Jerryseinfeld 20:51, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I don't know about this; there could be nothing more structured than Hong Kong's development. One should know that the Hong Kong political and business community release public land for development in a very organized fashion. If one is not near fluent in the Chinese written language this point might obviously elude one. The economy has prospered there because a lot of attention is being paid to it. Analagously, an ignorant Asian person may just as well assume that Newton's Principia were written by a group of drunken sailors. --McDogm 10:18, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
