This redirects to psychedelic, which is about drugs. I associate psychedelic with drugs, but psychedelia more with music, and with the associated trappings of hippie culture. Perhaps there needs to be a separate psychedelia (music) page and a disambiguation page here. Almost everything that links here seems to be a music or movie link.

I started a new page for Psychedelia. The text contains a link to psychedelic. It surely needs major input from other hands. ---Ihcoyc
It seems that there is also a page for psychedelic music. It would appear that the two pages should be merged for redundancy, and psychedelia should redirect to psychedelic music rather than psychedelic. ---Ihcoyc

Jefferson Airplane is already at psychedelic music --- not sure why they were added here? Anyone care to enlighten? --IHCOYC 17:56 19 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I've added a page on psychedelic art (as well as psychedelic literature, psychedelic era and psychedelic experience), so I've moved the art related references to the art page, and put links to the relevant pages, making this a quasi disambiguation page of sorts. --Thoric 21:05, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Is it and psychedelica are the same thing?[edit]

No[edit]

There is a clear boundry between psycadelic and psycadelic music.217.36.120.131 22:21, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Against merging[edit]

If psychedelic and psychedelia have a connexion, one is only focused on drugs, the other on the 60's/70's culture.

Shouldn't this be a redirect to the disambiguation page?[edit]

Shouldn't this page redirect to Psychedelic (disambiguation) rather than Psychedelic drug? (Please see WP:DAB). The word "psychedelic", while originally coined to refer to a specific classification of drug, has been also been used to describe styles of music, art, clothing, movies, as well as experiences for over 50 years. This word is still commonly used in family movies, so it would seem that the disambiguation page would be more appropriate than the drug page. --Thoric (talk) 15:57, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
