Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kay house

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kay house was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to delete the article. I have copied the history to the talk page of Wheaton College, Illinois, where this article was merged; that should satisfy the requirements of the GFDL adequately. —No-One Jones (m) 01:18, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Some building on a campus. Wyllium 05:22, 2004 Nov 12 (UTC)

  • I say delete, unless someone can show that this is a special building that helps define the campus, as opposed to just some random frat house. --Slowking Man 05:44, Nov 12, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete; non-notable. — A.M. 06:14, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: No content. College buildings may be kept, but not because the article is two predicate nominatives. Geogre 14:32, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Quite simple, merge with Wheaton College, Illinois. Elementary really! No need for the frantic calls of "delete delete delete"! zoney talk 14:52, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Not simple: "merge" and what? Merge and redirect? There are no other Kay houses or Kay Houses? Merge and delete (by merging into history)? Is this schlub stub worth all that? What do we learn from this article? Let's see: that it's at Wheaton college and that it's across the street from something. Ok. Built when? Housing how many? Serves what part of campus? Style of architecture? Of how many other dorms? Please don't chide VfD voters, Zoney. Let's respect each other as much as possible. Geogre 20:33, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)
OK, but I'm merely saying that however minor the content is, it has facts not recorded elsewhere (they are not currently in the main college page). Also I'm suggesting that the issue didn't need a VfD vote, as one could simply have moved the content, and put a redirect (a redirect is probably unnecessary, but is more likely to deter any recreation of a separate stub). My tone was of course, overly dismissive and indeed "chiding". My apologies. zoney talk 22:28, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I do think that VfD was appropriate, but that's partly because I think we can help authors, but the authors must do it themselves. This information was virtually nil. The desire to do good is laudable, but, well, we can't just leave trash on the ground when we see it. Geogre 01:14, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Nobody's going to come looking for it, and there are soooo many campus buildings in the world. --Improv 15:05, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete or merge. Alphax (talk) 04:20, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)

This page is now preserved as an archive of the debate and, like other '/delete' pages is no longer 'live'. Subsequent comments on the issue, the deletion or on the decision-making process should be placed on the relevant 'live' pages. Please do not edit this page.
