Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/9 (number)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Okay, we're all adults here. This entry is completely superfluous. 9 is arguably the least important of the integers. Sure, I know what you're going to say: "but nine's a square number" or "my son Matty is nine years old." Well, you know what: Matty is bad at baseball. Additionally, look at the "Evolution of the glyph" image. Why would culture push 9 through a stage that it looked like a 3 courted an @ symbol? I mean, sure...8 I can see, and we do everything in base 10...but 9? Finally, the entry concludes with a list of things that are equal to nine. Do you all really think that trivia such as "In chess, the maximum number of queens one side could possibly have after queening all pawns" or "Nine is the number of musicians in a nonet" warrent further contemplations on the number 9 itself? I strongely urge we remove "9" from wikipedia as soon as possible. Delete.128.12.118.170 09:23, 24 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. This is a crank nomination, a waste of VfD time and space. --Woggly 08:00, 25 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Good grief... if this is a joke, it's funny... but only because it's so pathetic. --Chanting Fox 08:01, 25 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. It's a shame that the IP doesn't have a '9' in it to make it even more funny. -- AllyUnion (talk) 08:19, 25 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. The anonymous user does make a couple of good points (the items like "my son Matty is nine years old" don't belong in the article, and some items that do belong might be not be phrased in the most intelligent manner possible) but if they had made this point by actually editing or contributing, I'd be more inclined to take their point more seriously. • Keep. Some of the information on this page is very valid. And that which isn't should just be changed or removed. --bjwebb 09:27, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
