The redirection of this title to Underground Railroad might confuse some people, since "Underground Railway" is a common term (but perhaps not in the USA) meaning a subway. -- user:Heron

Just changed the three links from to Underground railway to Underground railroad. Two of them were created by me, one last month and one this morning. Obviously, the "railway" was more familiar to me. Underground railroad leads Underground railway very slightly on Google, 290,000 to 219,000. Under either name, the slave-saving underground railroad preceded the subway by some 50 years, and under either name it might be confused (only temporarily) with the "tube". This what disambiguation pages were born for (more so than for distinguishing Paris, France from Paris, Illinois). Ortolan88 12:11 Aug 17, 2002 (PDT)

The page on metro systems is Underground. It might be an idea for a brief link to that at the top of this one. -- Tarquin

Easier said than done. It will take some charting, because there is also London Underground and transit subway and several forms of {{Underground Rail{Road|way}} etc. Ortolan88
