Seanchai[edit]

I had a hell of a time putting this on the VfD page, because the supposedly new and improved way of doing things didn't leave a link to edit to get to this page. So anyway: This is a portmanteau article. 1-A non-notable band. 2-a dictdef that belongs on Wikipedia. RickK 22:17, Sep 21, 2004 (UTC)

  • disambig article, keep 2nd half at least. Kim Bruning 22:24, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete both parts: I'm waiting to see what our Irish Wikipedians have to say, but the first half is vanity. The second half demonstrates no fluency in English and is unwikified. The second half is close to being appropriate, but it's more a dictdef than anything else. Given that the Irish language was studied in a scholarly setting all the way along, roaming teachers keeping the language alive is a bizarre concept. If the locals spoke it, they spoke it already. If they didn't, were they going to learn it from a minstrel teacher? Meanwhile, the university folk never stopped studying it. Geogre 00:16, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. 1/2 band vanity, 1/2 probable fabrication. Gwalla | Talk 05:07, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
