Welcome[edit]

Dear Theresa, welcome to wikipedia! Thank you for your opinions about the earthquake. Again, if you dont like a part of an article and you have good reasons, you are more than welcome to make the change. As i said, i dont have a reference though i dont find the allegation strange, considering the power of the Jesuits at the tome and the religious fanatism of the time. I didnt mean to insult any belief by mentioning Your Lord and i'm sorry if i did so. Tip: you can sign your comments by typing 4 tildas (~). (i posted this here just to open your talk page) Cheers, muriel@pt 09:30, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)

  • Thank you, ALoan. I truly appreciate your kindness and your help! I think this Wiki concept is an intellectually stimulating exercise, and a wonderful use of one's time. I hope someday to be a contributor. I also appreciate the hard work you put in, especially on the 1755 Lisbon Article. It is really great - I said so in my last article on Catholic Exchange. Thanks again! Polycarp7 17:08, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for your further comments on Talk:1755 Lisbon earthquake. I trust that the article now gives a reasonable account, but please let us know if there are any other areas where it could be improved.

RCC[edit]

This could be incorporated into the history section I think but it should be maybe two sentences at most. Go ahead and do some research, I would be interested to see what you come up with. I think the term Roman Catholic was used informally prior to the Reformation to make a distinction between the Eastern Orthodox and Western Church. NancyHeise (talk) 05:34, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I'll see what I can come up with. I'm aware that the term "Roman Church" was used occassionally, prior to the English Reformation, but I've not seen "Roman Catholic Church." I'll look at some Orthodox sources. Polycarp7 (talk) 23:37, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
