His User Page[edit]
Granted, Zocky, it is his user page, we have little control over it and have the option to not read it. However, putting up a list of enemies who he claims of being biased and also saying that any edit that is not in his POV should be reverted as "biased and narrow minded" should not be encouraged on here. - Hmmm... I don't think that being called biased is such a bad thing. Only spineless people have no bias. I agree that enemy lists should not be encouraged - and I don't see anyone encouraging them. But I don't see why we should discourage users from stating the opinion that certain articles are unbalanced and that they need attention from people who share the user's POV. - Of course, anyone can have an opinion, and what he rights is not always wrong (as Mel mentioned). However, it is just his demeaner is out of linem thus that is why we have the RfC. - And all I'm saying is that what he's been doing is not worth the trouble of RfC. I can think of plenty of long-time users who behave or have behaved in similar manner when issues important to them are discussed. Just let the guy learn that he can't have his way with the articles. I should add that he doesn't call edits with which he disagrees 'biased' — he calls them bigoted. (And, as matter of fact I disagree about bias being a good thing; to have a point of view is a good thing (if it's justified), but that's very different from being biased — and wholly different from making biased edits.) His behavior with Islamofascism is especially egregious. His edits are/were borderline vandalism with lots of blanking of materiel he found objectionable. It seems that User:Islamist doesn't like anything which may cast Islam in a bad light. Klonimus 03:57, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Mainly what he was doing is adding the flag of Palestine against consensus and keep on inserting that Palestine should be on it, while places like Palestine should not be on there. That is what clued me into his POV. Zscout370 11:20, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

About the Palestinian flag, did anyone bother to suggest...[edit]
...that the flag of Palestine be included in the Flags of non-sovereign nations -- which is what Palestine is? Or, did people decide to just butt heads with this guy? (I've already added it there, and to the article on Palestinian territories and left a note on Islamist's user page, letting him know.) I don't understand why it wasn't already there. (Just amazing.)
I came upon this RfC quite by accident and have not read anything but Islamist's user page -- which I find pretty innocuous -- very innocuous, in fact. As an African American with leftist political leanings, I often find myself at odds with other Wikipedians. And I find the provincialism, abysmal ignorance and outright racism of lots of white folks (and one Asian in particular *wink*) on Wikipedia in matters pertaining to black folks sometimes annoying as hell. I can understand fully how a Muslim brother might get exercised over the Zionist bent of much of the info on Wikipedia treating the Middle East. With the tendency of certain interest cliques to pile on here, it's really easy to feel marginalized— which can lead to frustration. A little helpfulness in this regard might have gone a long way toward defusing the situation. I'm not making excuses for Islamist. Like I said, I haven't read the full complaint and know little of the dispute. But this one seemed a no-brainer. Give a little, get a lot. Peace/As-salaam alaikum. deeceevoice 19:52, 10 May 2005 (UTC)
